Carol Burrows Assistant Coach

Carol Burrows is a graduate from Grand Canyon University with a dual BS degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She also has a BA Business Management from Lincoln College of New England. She currently works as a SPED teacher and teaches a number of classes. She even likes to spend her free time helping out with extracurriculars throughout the school. Burrows is involved in Sources of Strength and she is a sponsor for Key Club. She even spends her Saturdays at school facilitating Saturday School and coordinating/proctoring SAT/ACT testing. She also has a passion for traveling and taking students abroad by chaperoning and facilitating educational tours. When she is not in school, she likes to get involved in the community and help support causes she cares about. She is a mentor to young adults and children at the West Cobb YMCA and she volunteers for the non-profit Better Day Givings to help provide wigs to breast cancer patients. Burrows also facilitates a Dementia/Alzeimers monthly support group and quarterly women’s group. Now at this point, you may be wondering where her business degree comes in. Well, a fun fact about Mrs. Burrows is that she used to work in insurance. In fact, her insurance job brought her here to Georgia from Connecticut many years ago. She also once ran and owned a restaurant that was voted best restaurant in Atlanta. Most notably, she has also found an interest in sports during her time at Harrison. Mrs. Burrows was also known as Coach Burrows to the JV Volleyball team and JV Lacrosse team and she is thrilled to now be called Coach by the Harrison Hoya swim team. Burrows has a special connection to the swim team. Her daughter was on the swim team for all four years of her high school career and Mrs. Burrows was there for it all; she attended every practice, every race, every event and every heat. Now she is excited to see and experience the swim team through the lens of a coach.
