URGENT - - Your Support Needed for a Successful Swim Season!

Harrison Swim & Dive Team Parents -

I hope this message finds you well and I know we are all looking forward to the end of the Fall Semester.

As we gear up for the back half of an exciting swim season at Harrison High School, I wanted to reach out to you regarding the crucial role that you as parents play in supporting the success of our program and your swimmers.

The Power of Teamwork: Our swimmers are part of an incredible team that extends beyond the pool. As parents, your involvement and support are vital to creating a positive and enriching experience for our young athletes. It is very important to the Booster Board that we help build a solid team in and out of the water. Unfortunately, we've noticed a decline in parent participation, and we need your help to turn this around for the betterment of the entire program.

How You Can Make a Difference:

  1. Volunteer Opportunities: We have various volunteer opportunities available, from helping with swim meets to organizing team events. Your time and skills are valuable assets to our program, and we need EVERYONE to support the program.
  2. Food Donations: Our team events often involve shared meals. By contributing food items, you directly contribute to the camaraderie and team spirit that make our program so special. We have one of our biggest events coming up next week with the Harrison Swim and Dive Holiday Party and we desperately need your help. If we cannot get the support that is needed to pull off this event by noon on Monday, December 11th we are going to have to scale back and make an alternate plan, which we don’t want to do because the swimmers are looking forward to a GREAT Holiday Party. It’s a Harrison Swim and Dive Tradition.

NOTE: For the past 12+ years the Swim and Booster Club as been blessed by the unwavering support of a local Chick-Fil-A Operator who has had swimmer on the team up until 2022, but now he cannot support the team because it is outside his area and without a direct connection it is against their policy. We will always be GREATFUL for that long support and history with the team.

  1. Financial Stewardship: We had to adjust the dues this season (the first time in over 4 years) to keep pace with rising costs. To ensure these funds are invested where they matter most, we need your support in helping with donations when we ask, etc. This helps us minimize unnecessary expenses by the Board in support of the team.

Upcoming Meeting: We invite anyone that is interested in getting involved in a larger way to support Harrison Swim and Dive at our next Board Meeting on Wednesday, January 10th at Harrison High School in the Hoya Room. This will be an opportunity to discuss the rest of the season, share ideas, and address any concerns. We also be discussing how you can support the program next season, which believe it or not we will start planning in the Spring. Your input is invaluable, and we want to ensure that every parent feels heard and involved.

You may not be aware but at the end of this season of the 6 Board Officers 4 will be graduating out of the program, so WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT! Especially, Freshman and Sophomore Parents!

Let's Build Something Great Together: Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for all our swimmers, both in and out of the pool. With your active participation, we can create lasting memories and opportunities for growth that will benefit our athletes for years to come.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to seeing your name on the sign-up roster for the Holiday Party and upcoming events. We hope that some of you will be joining us the January Board Meeting and working together to make this season the best one yet!

Best Regards and Happy Swimming,

Jay Taylor
